Get It Done!

For help filling out your 2010-11 FAFSA (and COOKIES! and DOOR PRIZES!) join your MSU Financial Aid Advisors at our second annual 'Get It Done Day'. (The State of Michigan deadline is March 1st!)

WHEN: Saturday, February 20th, 10 am to 2 pm
WHERE: Student Services Building

To help us prepare:

Please RSVP by 2/12 to getitdone@esp.msu.edu. Let us know if you will or might attend, and if you have a preferred time. This site is for RSVPs only. If you have questions about the program, please email finaid@msu.edu or call (517)353-5940.

To prepare yourself:

Download a FAFSA on the Web Worksheet at www.fafsa.ed.gov/fafsaws01c.pdf and complete as much as possible before February 20th. If you are a dependent student, invite your parents to visit that day and attend with you.

Bring with you:

  • Correct Social Security number (from your Social Security card)
  • Driver's license (if any)
  • 2009 federal tax returns (or 2008 federal tax returns if 2009 returns are not complete)
  • 2009 untaxed income records, e.g., veterans benefits records
  • 2009 bank statements
  • 2009 business and investment mortgage information, business and farm records, and stock, bond, and other investment records
  • Alien registration card (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
  • Unemployment benefits documentation (if any)
  • Department of Education PIN for you (and your parent if you file as dependent)
